Award for 1Step2Step

The Diocese of Blackburn has recognised the work of 1Step2Step with a Special Award. It was presented at a service held on 3rd October 2017 at St. Cuthbert’s Church in Fulwood, led by Bishop Philip North.

The citation on the award says “In recognition of your work with children with disabilities in Thailand’s only state-run orphanage. Thank you for demonstrating the love of Christ through dedication to working with these children and the staff that work with them.”

The award was received on behalf of 1Step2Step by Sally Anderson, who had the opportunity to answer some questions about the work of 1Step2Step during the service.

Following the service, many of those attending visited the 1Step2Step display to find out more.

The service celebrated work among children in the Diocese and included presentations of long service awards to many people who had worked in Junior Churches over many years. NISCU, the Northern Inter-Schools Christian Union, also received a Special Award in recognition of their work with children.

  1. Looks like it was really fun. Thank you for thinking of our works value. So grateful for this our first ever award.

  2. I am now told by the Diocese children’s work liaison that….’We don’t present many certificates like this (we mostly present to Children’s Workers for long service etc.), however when Bishop Cyril requested that 1step2step was recognized, we were more than happy to give you ‘Special Recognition’ when we saw from your website what you’ve been doing.’ How very very kind of everyone. Our first ever award. Thank you Blackburn Diocese for everything and Thank you Bishop Cyril for presenting our case.
