Congratulations to Lauren Avery

1Step2Step would like to send many congratulations to our dear friend, Lauren Avery, on her wonderful recent research success. Lauren has assisted 1Step2Step with trips, translation for study tours and advice on Thai culture many times. Now Lauren has been awarded ‘research student of the year’ by her Faculty at Leeds University for her research into public transport in Bangkok (accessibility for disabled people). She  had to present her research in a ten minute talk and answer five minutes of questions from academics from other universities. Only seven other students from Leeds (all different faculties) had the honour of being put forward. 1Step2Step believes that her success in the research of such a challenging topic is wonderful and could have an impact on the system she was investigating.

Now her masters degree is finished and with such a great achievement, we wish her well in seeking a job where she can continue to make a massive impact for the disabled of Thailand using her wonderful Thai speaking skills. We have been tremendously blessed by her help over the years and know that she would be a wonderful asset to any company, agency or charity working for Thailand and disability awareness.
