Siwanad – Rest in Peace

Siwanad, one of the original 1Step2Step children, moved to the home for disabled boys over a year ago and lived in the sick ward. Recently he has not been able to get the calories he needed to retain his weight and heal the pressure sore on his hip which has been an issue that I dealt with for many years. Sadly he lost lots of weight and gained seven other pressure sores. He was in a bad state, although still the calm and composed natured boy he is; he didn’t fuss. I was with him on his last hospital appointment, where the doctor prescribed a high calorie diet and a follow-up appointment, as he could not treat him with so little weight.

On Friday the 17th November at 2pm I believe Siwanad chose to rest in God’s love as I had described two days before. He passed away in his bed on the sick ward. Sadly I was not there, as i was at Immigration for renewing my visa.

Please pray for the nurses in that ward as well as Rachel Wade, Siwanad’s Huahin holiday volunteer from five years ago, who is heartbroken at the news.

Thank you to God for the chance to know this wonderful young man and be part of his life. Loved by many.

Rest in true peace without pain or pressure.

Nicola Anderson

Prayer request update:

Siwanad’s funeral will be tomorrow (Thursday 23rd November 2017) 12.30 Thai time. Prayer gratefully received for those who cared for him and miss him. He will be cremated in a lovely soft blanket from 1Step2Step as he always loved soft textures and comforting sensory experiences. Nicola is grateful that Anna Galbraith and Chris Yeates from the UK are able to be here as a support this week and at the funeral. God is so good at timing support. Thank you to all who have been praying.
